CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL

Sam is a first term City Councillor representing the Waimairi Ward. A Chartered Accountant by profession, he has experience in both the public and private sector.

Sam is the Deputy Chair of the Finance and Performance Committee, and the Audit and Risk Committee. He is also a director of Civic Building Limited and an independent Trustee of Development West Coast, a $140 million Economic Development Agency on the West Coast.

Sam’s primary focus at Council is and providing effective Governance to the City that ensures the Council focuses on outcomes rather than process. He is particularly interested in reducing the ongoing rating pressures that the Council continues to impose on residents. Sam is a staunch opponent of the Government's three waters asset grab and the Wellington driven housing intensification rules that will fundamentally alter our local communities for the worst.

Sam is standing again in the Waimairi Ward based on a proven track record of delivering for the local community (whether it is roading issues, trees, safety initiatives or helping progress work on the Ilam Stream) and to ensure the Council focuses on the basics, and delivers on the pre-existing commitments it has made to the people of Christchurch. Please contact Sam at anytime.
